Broken
“…Take,
eat: this is My body, which is broken for you…”
1 Corinthians 11:24
My God,
the Creator of the Universe, the Ruler of the World, Lord of all, the ALMIGHTY
One, allowed Himself to be broken for me. The Bible says that not a bone of His
would be broken, yet, Jesus Himself likens His body to bread that is broken.
Crucifixion makes it quite possible to break someone’s body without breaking a
bone. Taking MY sin upon His perfect body, Jesus willingly humbled himself to die
in despisement. Naked, bleeding, pierced, exposed. I am ashamed to think that
my great God would do this for me, when I find it hard just to LIVE for Him. However,
brokenness did not mean powerless. He is the Broken One who Heals. He is the
Rejected One who Accepts. The Betrayed One who Redeems. THIS is the God who
calls me to serve Him. Today, He stands waiting, with His pierced hands
out-stretched, to welcome me into His love. Thank you Jesus, for being Broken!
“But He was wounded for our transgressions,
He
was bruised for our iniquities:
the chastisement of our peace was upon Him;
and
with His stripes we are healed.”
