People and Pictures

I had just set up the tripod, and was concentrating on composing the "perfect" shot, when over my shoulder I hear giggling. Turning around, I see some nervous young girls intently watching me. Apparently, they had never seen a foreigner before. I said "hello" and waved while they giggled back. After adjusting the tripod again, I took a few more shots; and noticed they were right behind me trying to see in the screen. I showed the three girls how I was composing the shots, and then the pictures I had taken. Really, I'm not sure if they were interested in the pictures; I think they just were curious about me, but it's okay. It made me remember that people are so much more important and I shouldn't let pictures get in the way of making relationships.

(Yes, this is a real dog sitting in a real pot of flowers. Thanks to the zoom on my camera, I could take this shot from about one hundred yards away on my way back to school.)
