The Circus has come to town! I can see it already: lions leaping through fire-lit hoops, clowns riding in their stunt cars, and acrobats swinging high in the air, all under the big red and white striped tent. But, what do you do when the food is delivered to the other side of a deep, rushing river and the bridge is miles away? You call on an obedient elephant of course!
At Character Club this week, the kids learned how crucial obedience is. Obedience takes what it learned through attentiveness and applies it. Obedience wears a smile, works instantly, does more than is required, does not make excuses, but does not do wrong. In the Bible, we saw that the opposite of obedience is willfulness. Saul learned the hard way that God does not tolerate stubborn pride. How important it is to heed what our authorities tell us!
