"Miss Barbara, what is a trumpet?"Hear the trumpet sound, Hear the trumpet sound, Hear the trumpet sound; LISTEN FOR THE TRUMPET SOUND.
"A musical instrument that is very loud, often used to announce the coming of someone/something important."
Although I had prepared a lesson, God used the choir's special music to bring up quite a conversation in junior church. We talked about what a trumpet was, and then we discovered why we should be listening for the trumpet. -Jesus is coming! We must be ready. Each one of my boys had good questions today. One of them asked about baptism, what it is, how old you have to be, and if it is required for salvation. They are learning and growing so much in the Lord! What a blessing indeed!
The story today was how Moses struck the rock instead of speaking to it. Ironically, it's not the disobedience that God punishes him for, but the unbelief. Unbelief has harsh consequences! "But without faith, it is IMPOSSIBLE to please Him; for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him." (Hebrews 11:6)
