It Will Not Return Void

Junior church has grown from six to fifteen, take or leave a few. It's been neat to see our church grow and the classes fill up. And, it's a lot different preparing class for fifteen to twenty kids instead of four to six; simply coloring a picture takes a lot longer!

Several weeks ago, we learned about honoring God's name (i.e. command #3: thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain). One little boy got it so well, that later in the week, when he heard another little boy swear, he had to call his mom and tell her to discipline his brother. When she asked why, he said "He was very naughty. He made fun of God's name!" THEY DO GET IT!!! Sometimes I wonder. But, God keeps graciously reminding me that His Word does not return void. (Isaiah 55:11)

Lately, the kids have been learning about the ten commandments; and we just finished command #6: thou shalt not kill. They are always asking me where something is in the Bible, or to read it to them. So, as I told the story of Cain and Abel, the kids followed along in their Bibles, which is just awesome! The story of Cain and Abel is, in short, a story of siblings who fight a lot; and these kids were all ears. They could all totally relate. May God continue to water the seeds of truth in these precious children's hearts!

I'm going to miss this bunch!
