Lillies of the Field

He's the Lily of the Valley, the Bright and Morning Star; He's the Fairest of Ten Thousand to my soul!

Mom asked me to take pictures of the flowers in the garden, and as I did, this song and these verses kept running through my mind.  What an amazing God that makes His Word and His promises so memorable as to place reminders throughout His earth!

"  I am the Rose of Sharon, and the Lily of the valleys."
Song of Solomon 2:1

"  The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever."
Isaiah 40:8
"...Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you,
O ye of little faith?"
Matthew 6:28-30

Springs of Water

"They shall not hunger nor thirst; neither shall the heat nor sun smite them: for He that hath mercy on them shall lead them, even by the springs of water shall He guide them."
Isaiah 49:10

Another Week of Camp

What a week of camp!  God certainly worked, though to be honest, it seemed there was a lot of spiritual warfare.  But, though there were a few sad things that happened, God got the glory, and quite a few kids learned something.  My cabin had five girls, and what an encouragement they were to me!  Even though we lost cabin cleanup every single day, they kept a cheerful attitude as they continued to do their best. Brother Joe Mark preached at camp all week, and we were also blessed with singing groups from Crown and Heartland Baptist colleges.  River rafting was just a little cold this year (I fell in...).  All in all, it was a very intensely brutal week.  Wednesday felt like Friday, we were so tired.  Today, I am so sore from bruises and all... but it was SO worth it, because we had a kid get saved!!!  Let's do it again next year~ !

Armor You Can't See

Being the 4th of July, there were a lot of kids in Junior Church this week.  What a blessing!  They were good kids too.  As we have been learning the armor of God, we sang our song, and went on to the story.

The armor of God, what have I here?  This is my (heart keeper) I will not fear!  (Heart keeper, ...truth buckler) God gave to me; a soldier of Christ I will be.

Authorities do four things for those
they are over; they instruct, correct, protect, and provide.  Gideon was afraid that he had no authority among the people to lead them against the Midianites.  But, before he went to battle, God showed him these four things, giving him authority from the Lord.  Though Gideon did not go to battle with the usual armor, he had the shield of faith that you can't see because he was under God's command.

Quiet Week of Relaxing... Camp?

After going to Elisha's Academy, I returned home all set for a summer, then got another call or two concerning camp needs.  One being that they needed a dishwasher for Caleb's Kin- the senior citizen's camp who could train a younger up-and-coming dishwasher.  In actuality, there were very few dishes, but between dishes, kitchen duties, and team competition, I stayed so busy I fell into bed every night.  This was supposed to be a week of relaxation- but turned out to be just as intense as any other week of camp.

Here's a few pictures to give you the idea of what I did besides dishes:

Dishing icecream was WAY more work than advertised. (There were four of us working at it until I jumped to get my camera.)
It's Noah's Ark... (can't you tell???) waiting to be floated down river.
We were supposed to be catching the boats but...

CALM river rafting...

Ladies tea- British style...

No, I didn't win the target shoot.  I got beat by the cook's ten-year-old daughter!

I thought these games were for senior citizens.-They sure were an awful lot of work... and fun!

That was my week of camp, and I'll be back on Monday, doing... uh, I don't know.  Please pray.  This week is Senior High Camp (high school level), and there are usually a lot of decisions made.  Pray for God to bind the power of satan and for hearts to be open and broken to the Lord's work.
